“It has clean, classy notes of crème de cassis, toasted spice and dusty earth in a medium to full-bodied, fresh, elegant, yet also concentrated style. 91-94 points."
-- Jeb Dunnuck, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
“Curiosity is the lust of the mind,” said philosopher Thomas Hobbes and so, lustful we are. We lusted for a Cabernet that knew no bounds, reached beyond the norm, brought something new to the literal table, and...we made it. “Curiosity is the soul of our wines,” says Mike. “It is what drives our willingness to engage in the depths of complexity of wine and this wine celebrates that. We could make it easier on ourselves but we must fulfill our curiosity.” What he’s really saying is, we are wine geeks. Running under the assumption that you are too, grab a bottle of this stellar wine and prepare to get your geek on.
2015 Curiositas is an elegant, complex and lush, yet subtle, wine. Its tone of freshness evokes a Margaux-styled fragrant Cabernet Sauvignon. Planted high on Red Mountain these vines get full exposure to all the elements. “It is beautifully situated, with more vines doing less work, and planted with higher density,” says Ali. “It lends itself to complexity so how could we not take advantage of that?” Curiosity may have killed the cat but that’s why at cat has nine lives, right? If we had nine lives, we’d choose to celebrate each one with this wine.
